Community Leader (Educational Leader & Assistant Director)

About the role

Village Early Education's Baranduda centre is looking for a Community Leader, described as an Educational Leader and Assistant Director, to join a supportive team alongside another Community Leader. The role leads quality practice, mentors educators, supports day-to-day operations and has a strong focus on children, families and the team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the team of educators and support the Centre Manager; report to the Area Manager in the Centre Manager's absence and oversee direct reports such as administration assistants, cooks and cleaners.
• Hold accountability for Quality Area 1: Education Program and Practice, and Educator Engagement, ensuring excellent learning outcomes and team cohesion.
• Develop curricula, manage administrative procedures and liaise with parents and communities.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Early Childhood Education from a recognised institution (ACECQA).
• Valid Working with Children Check.
• Accredited emergency response training, including anaphylaxis and asthma management, and child protection training certification.
• At least 3 years of leadership experience in Early Childhood Services, or 5 years of field experience.
• Extensive knowledge of the National Quality Framework and willingness to act as Nominated Supervisor under relevant laws.

Required skills

• Solid understanding of WHS legislation and compliance systems, including the Child Care Subsidy (CCS).
• Ability to lead and mentor teams and develop curricula.
