Community Engagement Specialist

About the role

The Community Engagement Specialist will support the development and delivery of GreenPoint Energy’s renewable‑energy projects – including wind, solar and battery storage – by building and maintaining trusted relationships with the communities in which we operate. This role ensures that all stakeholders are informed, respected and heard throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement community engagement strategies and communication plans aligned with corporate values.
• Act as the primary point of contact for local residents, landholders, councils, Traditional Owners and other regional stakeholders.
• Facilitate meetings, information sessions, pop‑up events and open days to share project details and gather feedback.
• Identify and develop local partnership, sponsorship and benefit‑sharing opportunities that reinforce the social licence.
• Maintain a detailed stakeholder register in a CRM, tracking engagements, commitments and actions.
• Prepare FAQs, community updates and other communication materials in collaboration with project teams.
• Support negotiations related to neighbour agreements, land access and benefit arrangements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in community engagement, stakeholder relations or community development, preferably within renewable energy or large‑scale infrastructure.
• Strong interpersonal and conflict‑resolution abilities, with a diplomatic approach to sensitive issues.
• Familiarity with planning, environmental and local‑government processes.
• Current Australian driver’s licence and willingness to travel regionally.
• Tertiary qualification in communications, planning, social science or environmental management is desirable.

Required skills

• Experience using stakeholder management systems or CRM platforms.
