Community Engagement Specialist

About the role

The Community Engagement Specialist will support the development and delivery of GreenPoint Energy’s renewable‑energy projects, building trusted relationships with local communities, landholders, councils and Traditional Owners. You will ensure stakeholders are informed, respected and heard throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement community engagement strategies and communication plans for battery storage, wind and solar projects.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for neighbours, councils, Traditional Owners and other regional stakeholders.
• Facilitate meetings, information sessions, pop‑up events and open days to share project details and gather feedback.
• Identify and manage local partnership, sponsorship and benefit‑sharing opportunities.
• Maintain a detailed stakeholder register in a CRM, tracking engagements, commitments and actions.
• Prepare FAQs, community updates and other communication materials in collaboration with project teams.

• Relationship‑builder with strong empathy and commercial awareness.
• Confident field presence, able to handle sensitive conversations with diplomacy.
• High cultural and situational awareness, especially when working with Traditional Owners.
• Organised, practical and able to balance fieldwork with reporting duties.
• Values transparency, integrity and inclusion.
