Community Engagement Advisor

About the role

The Community Engagement Advisor works in the Public Affairs and Engagement team to plan, design and deliver communications and engagement strategies, activities and materials for new social and affordable housing renewal projects. The role works closely with internal and external stakeholders, including integrated project teams, to put people at the heart of planning and support organisational objectives. It is based in Parramatta with hybrid working arrangements.

Key responsibilities

• Advise and support the Community Engagement Manager or delegated Community Engagement Project Lead.
• Design, implement and evaluate strategic communication and engagement strategies so residents, stakeholders and the community are consulted at the right stages of project planning and delivery.
• Carry out research into project context and local area analysis to guide communications and engagement planning.
• Prepare communications materials such as notifications, newsletters, responses to enquiries, key messages, presentations and correspondence for a range of audiences.
• Monitor and map the stakeholder environment, identify communication and stakeholder risks and issues, and develop strategies and controls to minimise them.
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.

Required profile

• Relevant qualifications and/or experience in a similar role.
• Proven experience working closely and cohesively with a team on projects and deliverables.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and effective communication.
• A strong willingness to learn, try new approaches and a can-do attitude.
