Community Engagement Advisor

About the role

The Community Engagement Advisor will support planning, implementation and reporting of community engagement activities across Firmus’ Australian development portfolio, building a consistent, locally credible model and providing insights that support approvals, delivery, social licence and long‑term community trust.

Key responsibilities

• Support delivery of community and stakeholder engagement activities, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and project commitments.
• Manage community enquiries and complaints, supporting timely resolution and continuous process improvement.
• Identify engagement risks and opportunities, providing insights that support project outcomes and community expectations.
• Coordinate community consultation activities, forums, meetings, communications and engagement initiatives across development, construction and operational phases.
• Assist with the delivery of community engagement campaigns, project notifications and communications to keep stakeholders informed.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent professional experience.
• 3‑5 years of experience in community engagement, stakeholder relations, communications or corporate affairs, ideally within infrastructure, construction or major projects.
• Proven ability to develop and deliver community engagement and communication materials for diverse audiences.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills with experience building effective relationships across internal and external groups.
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, able to translate complex information into clear plain English.
