Communications Technician – FIFO 14/14

About the role

Redpath Mining is seeking an experienced Communications Technician to support the Sandvik AutoMine system at the Cowal Gold Mine. This FIFO 14 days on / 14 days off position offers a balanced lifestyle while working on a cutting‑edge autonomous underground mining project.

Key responsibilities

• Support day‑to‑day operation and optimisation of Sandvik AutoMine equipment.
• Perform electrical fault finding, diagnostics and repairs on autonomous loaders and drills.
• Troubleshoot automation hardware, sensors, networks and control systems.
• Assist with system upgrades, software updates and configuration changes.
• Collaborate closely with operations, maintenance teams and OEM representatives.
• Promote and maintain high safety and operational standards on‑site.

Required profile

• Australian‑recognised Electrical Trade or Auto‑Electrician qualification.
• Proven experience with Sandvik AutoMine or similar autonomous mining systems.
• Strong electrical fault‑finding and diagnostic abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a FIFO environment.
• Strong safety focus and clear communication skills.
