Communications Coordinator

About the role

The Pacific Security College, funded by the Australian Government and part of the Crawford School of Public Policy within the ANU College of Law, Governance and Policy, is looking for a Communications Coordinator. Reporting to the Communications Manager, the role develops, coordinates and publishes content supporting the College's strategic objectives and activities. It is a full-time, fixed-term position until 31 December 2028.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate and publish content that showcases the College's work and impact across the region
• Commission, edit and publish articles for the College's Pacific Wayfinder blog
• Produce and edit podcasts
• Create social media content promoting the College's work and encouraging discussion on regional security issues
• Build connections with diverse Pacific partners and communities

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience developing, editing and publishing high-quality content across digital and traditional platforms
• Experience working collaboratively in a team and building relationships with diverse stakeholders, including external partners
• Strong interest in the Pacific Islands region and in communicating research and activities related to Pacific security
• Ability to exercise initiative and good judgement, manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes within agreed timeframes
• Rights to live and work in Australia; mandatory pre-employment declarations and background checks apply

Required skills

• Use of relevant software and tools such as the Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Riverside or similar
• Photography, videography or multimedia content production is highly regarded but not essential

Applications require a statement addressing the selection criteria and a CV with at least three referees. The advertised salary package is $100,847 to $116,083 per year plus 17% superannuation.
