Communications Advisor

About the role

As a Communications Advisor you will support Virgin Australia's Corporate Affairs team, delivering engaging internal and external communications that connect employees, customers and stakeholders. You will coordinate media enquiries, maintain communication processes and help ensure all messaging aligns with the Virgin brand and values.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute communication initiatives, including press releases, newsletters and internal updates.
• Draft compelling, news‑worthy stories for media and digital channels.
• Coordinate media enquiries and provide administrative support across projects.
• Maintain consistent messaging across traditional and digital platforms, including social media.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align communications with business objectives.
• Support the creation of video and visual content as needed.

Required profile

• Degree in Communications, Journalism or a related discipline (essential).
• 2+ years of experience in public relations, media or a similar communications role.
• Proven ability to identify and create compelling, news‑worthy stories.
• Thrives in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail.
• Proactive self‑starter who can manage multiple projects independently and collaboratively.
• Experience in aviation or a related industry is highly regarded.
