Communication Systems Engineer

About the role

The Communication Systems Engineer will strengthen engineering management systems, support audit outcomes, and enable effective delivery of communications and cryptographic capabilities within KBR's Defence projects.

Key responsibilities

• Implement audit recommendations and maintain compliant engineering documentation.
• Develop and standardise engineering artefacts such as plans, templates, CEMIs, and MDI.
• Modernise Engineering Management System documentation and frameworks.
• Support engineering change, configuration management, and ERP transition processes.
• Contribute to technical investigations, verification & validation activities, and design reviews.
• Develop guidance, training materials, and facilitate knowledge transfer to stakeholders.
• Build strong relationships across Defence, customers, and suppliers.

Required profile

• Degree‑qualified engineer with experience in systems engineering and engineering governance within Defence or complex environments.
• Proven track record developing Engineering Management Systems and Plans.
• Strong background in configuration management, V&V, and risk management.
• Familiarity with ASDEFCON frameworks and Defence engineering environments.
• Australian citizenship with a current NV1 AGSVA security clearance.
