Communication and Media Manager

About the role

RACV is seeking an experienced Media & Communications Manager to lead communications across Queensland, focusing on RACV Royal Pines Resort, RACV Noosa Resort and the Royal Pines redevelopment. You will report to the Head of Corporate Communications and support senior leaders with strategic advice.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver an integrated communications plan for Queensland activities, including resorts, solar and energy projects.
• Act as a trusted adviser to senior leaders, providing messaging, timing and reputation risk guidance.
• Support communications for the Royal Pines redevelopment with project updates, media statements and community outreach.
• Monitor media and community sentiment, identify emerging issues and provide timely advice.
• Drive proactive PR and earned media opportunities for resort launches, events and campaigns.
• Build strong relationships with Queensland travel, lifestyle, business and consumer media.
• Collaborate with Travel & Leisure, Brand, Marketing, Content and Social teams to ensure consistent communications.

Required profile

• Significant experience in corporate communications, media or public relations within a large, consumer‑facing organisation.
• Strong media relations experience, both proactive pitching and reactive management.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, able to simplify complex information.
• Proven judgement on sensitive, reputation‑critical matters and ability to advise senior leaders.
• Ability to work autonomously in Queensland while staying connected to a national team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft 365.
• Familiarity with media monitoring and evaluation platforms.
