Commissioning and Integration Specialist

About the role

ACCIONA, together with its partners COBRA and Endeavour Energy, is delivering the Central‑West Orana Renewable Energy Zone transmission project. The role is based in the Central West Orana region and involves commissioning and integrating EMS, SCADA and plant communication systems for a high‑capacity transmission network expected to be operational by 2028.

Key responsibilities

• Lead commissioning activities for EMS, SCADA, Plant Controller and power plant communication systems.
• Verify installation and configuration of SCADA servers, workstations, RTUs, communication gateways, network switches, firewalls and historian systems.
• Review and validate SCADA architecture, communication topology and network design.
• Coordinate with OEMs to finalize design, perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) and Integrated System Tests (IST).
• Integrate EMS/SCADA with substation automation, protection relays, metering, weather stations and grid operator control centres.
• Troubleshoot LAN/WAN connectivity, switches, routers, firewalls and fiber‑optic links and conduct redundancy and fail‑over testing.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical, Control Systems or Automation Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years experience in substation commissioning, control systems, SCADA or power system integration.
• Strong knowledge of Australian standards and utility requirements for transmission and distribution substations.
• Proven experience working with transmission network operators, OEMs and construction contractors.
• Demonstrated safety leadership and high attention to detail.
