Commercially‑Focused Accountant – Sydney CBD

About the role

Join a growing technology business as a commercially‑minded Accountant, working directly with senior leaders and the Head of Finance. You will go beyond traditional month‑end reporting to provide insights that shape decisions across sales, procurement, operations and revenue management.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end finance processes including accounts receivable, accounts payable, billing, reconciliations and general ledger management.
• Prepare accurate month‑end reports, profit and loss statements, balance‑sheet reconciliations and consolidated financial reports.
• Manage cash‑flow forecasting, working‑capital initiatives and merchant‑facility reconciliations.
• Maintain inventory accounting, cost accounting and revenue‑recognition processes.
• Develop management reporting packs with financial analysis, commentary and business insights.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning and commercial analysis of pricing, profitability and margins.

Required profile

• Degree or professional qualification in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in accounting, management accounting or commercial finance.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Proactive, organised and able to drive process improvements.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems and finance platforms.
