Commercial Painter – Sydney

About the role

A national construction and maintenance business serving retail, commercial and government sites across NSW is looking for a commercial painter to join its Sydney team. Most of the work involves refreshing and rebranding existing sites: painting buildings, canopies, columns and bollards to brand standards, then helping install the new signage. The employer will also teach you signage installation.

Key responsibilities

• Internal and external commercial painting with brush, roller and spray
• Surface preparation, including pressure cleaning, sanding, patching, priming and rust treatment
• Matching paint for touch-ups
• Learning to install signage, vinyl graphics and panels alongside the team
• Working on live sites, setting up safe work areas and keeping the public out of harm's way
• Handling photos, checklists and close-out paperwork on a tablet

Required profile

• 2+ years in commercial painting; a Cert III in Painting & Decorating is ideal
• Construction White Card and Working at Heights certificate
• Current driver's licence
• Willingness to travel for regional jobs, usually no more than two weeks at a time
• Signage experience, an EWP ticket or a traffic control ticket are a bonus, not required
