Commercial Finance Manager

About the role

A global organisation serving 2.5 million customers worldwide is hiring a Commercial Finance Manager in Sydney Olympic Park, NSW. Reporting to a Business GM with a dotted line to the Group CFO, the role is effectively a divisional CFO position with end-to-end accountability for delivering business targets. The 90-day plan is to build trust and credibility with stakeholders so they seek finance input on key business and strategic decisions. The day-to-day involves reviewing P&Ls, providing insights and challenging and supporting the business to achieve targets, working with managers to develop business plans aimed at sales performance, cost optimisation and M&A.

Key responsibilities

• Drive branch performance by setting business plans, monitoring performance and challenging existing models and processes
• Evaluate M&A strategy and support the evaluation of targets
• Drive the budgeting and forecasting process across all branches
• Produce management reporting including variance analysis, contract portfolio movements and commentaries for head office
• Track acquired businesses against earn-out targets and business plans
• Review ad-hoc and incremental investment opportunities to improve profitability and challenge assumptions
• Assist with the integration of acquisition targets from operational and finance perspectives
• Proactively highlight future performance concerns and opportunities and close the gaps

Required profile

• Lived experience in a similar role, currently in an FP&A, commercial or operational finance position in a listed organisation
• Exceptional communication and relationship management skills, humility and a winning attitude
• Robust business acumen and resilience, driven to improve profitability through influence and collaboration
• Strong ambition and drive, with a clear path to CFO or commercial/general management and possible international opportunities

What we offer

• Salary package of $180,000 - $200,000 plus superannuation, bonus and car
