Job description
About the role
HammondCare, an independent Christian charity providing the Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government, is looking for volunteers to bring café-style cheer to residents of its aged care home in Daw Park. You will roll through the halls with a coffee trolley, serving coffees and light refreshments to frail aged people and people living with dementia, and sharing a warm welcome, a laugh or a gentle conversation.
Key responsibilities
- Serve coffees and offer light refreshments to residents
- Bring a warm, welcoming presence to residents who are frail aged or living with dementia
- Create a friendly, café-like atmosphere in the home
Required profile
- 18 years or older
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare
- Commitment of one hour per week for a minimum of 6 months; a suitable day and time during the week (Monday to Friday) can be discussed
Regular visits from volunteers can help improve quality of life and reduce isolation for older people. Interested applicants are contacted by phone or text, and if that is not possible, by email.
