Cloud Systems Administrator – Hybrid (Contract)

About the role

The organisation is looking for an experienced Cloud Systems Administrator to join a collaborative digital operations team. You will help maintain secure, scalable and resilient cloud and hybrid infrastructure that supports critical community services.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and support cloud, hybrid and on‑premise infrastructure environments.
• Monitor system performance, availability, security and overall health.
• Participate in incident, problem, change and release management activities.
• Automate operational processes and infrastructure tasks using scripting and tooling.
• Contribute to system integration, configuration management and deployment activities.
• Maintain operational documentation, SOPs and technical standards.
• Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to deliver stable solutions.
• Identify risks, recommend improvements and support continuous optimisation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in cloud infrastructure and systems administration within enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft cloud technologies and virtualization.
• Familiarity with ITIL‑aligned operational processes (incident, change, problem management).
• Experience with automation, scripting, monitoring and configuration‑management tools.
• Understanding of information‑security controls and best practices.
• Effective troubleshooting across multiple technology domains and strong stakeholder communication.

Required skills

• Microsoft Azure (or other Microsoft cloud services).
• Virtualisation technologies.
• ITIL framework.
• Scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
• Monitoring and configuration‑management tools.
• Information security controls.
• CCNA (or equivalent networking knowledge).
