Cloud Security Architect – AWS specialist

About the role

A leading technology consultancy is looking for an experienced Cloud Security Architect to design and maintain secure AWS environments for a complex enterprise in Brisbane. You will collaborate with cloud engineers, application teams and security stakeholders to embed security throughout the cloud delivery lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain secure AWS architectures that meet organisational standards, policies and regulatory requirements.
• Develop security controls across identity and access management, network security, encryption, data protection, logging and monitoring.
• Establish guardrails, landing zones and multi‑account patterns, and provide guidance for AWS infrastructure, platforms and cloud‑native services.
• Conduct architecture reviews, threat modelling, risk assessments and identify remediation actions.
• Support AWS‑native security monitoring, configuration management, threat detection and vulnerability management.
• Assist with security incident investigations and define secure configuration standards and reusable controls.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in cyber security architecture and engineering across complex ICT environments.
• Proven track record designing security for large‑scale AWS environments.
• Strong knowledge of AWS security services (IAM, Organizations, Control Tower, Security Hub, GuardDuty, Inspector, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, Config, KMS, Secrets Manager, WAF).
• Experience with multi‑account architecture, landing zones, Service Control Policies and cloud governance.
• Understanding of Zero Trust, defence‑in‑depth and secure‑by‑design principles.
