Clinical Trials Finance Officer

About the role

Chris O'Brien Lifehouse, a not-for-profit cancer hospital in Camperdown, NSW, is looking for a Clinical Trials Finance Officer. The role focuses on processing and managing billing for work completed by the Clinical Trials Department.

Key responsibilities

• Review aged debtors, track accruals and revenue, manage invoicing schedules and overdue payments, reconcile invoices and ensure accurate, timely invoices across all clinical trials
• Partner with sponsors, CROs and the COBL Finance team on billing, escalate and resolve payment disputes, train the internal Clinical Trials team and consolidate sponsor-facing financial documentation
• Produce monthly finance reports with commentary, support Board reporting and provide budget variance analysis
• Develop internal guidelines and work instructions, maintain audit-ready records and support internal and sponsor audits, keeping work aligned with hospital finance policy, contracts and regulatory requirements

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or equivalent
• Highly proficient and experienced Finance Officer/Administrator
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong time management, organisation and planning skills, able to work autonomously
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Experience in Clinical Trials and/or healthcare finance desirable

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Knowledge of contract, accrual logic and billing schedules desirable
• Tech-1 experience highly desired
