Clinical Psychologist / Clinical Neuropsychologist / Case Manager

About the role

Hunter New England Health is recruiting a Clinical Psychologist / Clinical Neuropsychologist / Case Manager for the New England Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service (NEBIRS). You will help adults aged 16 to 65 rebuild confidence, maximise independence and improve quality of life after brain injury. Based at Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital, you will deliver specialist psychological and case management interventions within a multidisciplinary team, across community settings and the Transitional Living Unit. The position is full time, 38 hours per week, temporary until October 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver specialist psychological and case management interventions for adults recovering from brain injury
• Work within a supportive multidisciplinary team across community settings and the Transitional Living Unit
• Receive clinical supervision and support with complex cases, and access professional psychology networks and expertise

Required profile

• Master's degree or doctorate in Clinical Psychology or Clinical Neuropsychology from an APAC-accredited course, with current full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia
• Demonstrated clinical experience working with clients with traumatic and acquired brain injury and their family or carers across rehabilitation settings, providing evidence-based therapeutic psychological interventions
• Demonstrated experience developing rehabilitation care plans for complex clinical situations
• Demonstrated experience developing, implementing and evaluating behaviour management programs for clients with or at risk of challenging behaviours
• Current eligibility to drive in NSW and willingness to travel for work, which may involve long-distance driving
• Australian citizenship, Australian permanent residency, or New Zealand citizenship with a current passport; temporary visa holders may only be offered employment if no suitable local candidate is found, and visa sponsorship is not available
