Clinical Pharmacist - Hospital Pharmacy (12-Month Contract)

About the role

Slade Pharmacy, part of Icon Oncology Group, is recruiting a Clinical Pharmacist for its Slade Pharmacy team at Port Macquarie Base Hospital. The position is a 12-month full-time contract open to all AHPRA-registered pharmacists, including newly registered ones; no prior hospital experience is required. Relocation assistance is offered.

Key responsibilities

• Work with doctors, nurses and multidisciplinary teams to optimise medication management and support patient outcomes.
• Conduct medication chart reviews and medication reconciliation.
• Dispense and supply medication and pharmacy products.
• Coordinate patient medication needs for inpatients, day infusions and discharge.
• Maintain professional relationships with stakeholders to deliver good customer service.
• Educate staff and customers on health promotion, disease prevention, drug selection and safe use of medicines.
• Occasionally work at Slade Pharmacy Kempsey, about a 42-minute drive from Port Macquarie Base Hospital.

Required profile

• AHPRA registration as a pharmacist with no restrictions on practice.
• Permanent Australian working rights.
• Personal indemnity insurance.
• Collaborative attitude, strong communication skills, attention to detail and a patient-centred approach.
• Oncology experience is highly regarded but not essential; training and mentorship are provided.
