About the role

The Department of Health is seeking a Clinical Nurse to join the Same Day Procedure Unit serving the Darwin and Palmerston communities. This role involves delivering advanced nursing and midwifery care within a fast‑paced, therapeutic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality nursing care to patients undergoing same‑day procedures.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective treatment pathways.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to governance standards.
• Support patients and families through education and post‑procedure follow‑up.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with a postgraduate qualification (essential for ongoing appointment).
• Ability to work independently and within a team in a clinical setting.
• Commitment to attaining any missing qualification within the fixed term if appointed.

Required skills

• Advanced nursing and midwifery knowledge applicable to same‑day procedures.
• Proficiency in clinical assessment, medication administration, and patient monitoring.

What we offer

• Remuneration package between $131,100 and $139,950 AUD per year (salary component $111,174‑$119,984).
• Option of ongoing permanent employment or a fixed‑term contract of up to 18 months.
