Clinical Nurse Leader – Primary Health Services

About the role

The Clinical Nurse Leader will provide clinical and operational leadership to a multidisciplinary healthcare team at the Yongah Hill Immigration Detention Centre in Northam, WA. This role ensures detainees receive timely, safe, and high‑quality primary health services while supporting staff development and service improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of primary healthcare services, overseeing patient assessment, care planning, referrals and coordination.
• Manage staffing, rosters and clinical resources to ensure adequate coverage.
• Drive quality improvement initiatives, resolve service delivery issues and lead case reviews and multidisciplinary meetings.
• Contribute to service planning, policy development and strategic initiatives in collaboration with the Health Service Manager.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with current unrestricted AHPRA registration (Division 1) and a relevant postgraduate qualification.
• Minimum five years of clinical nursing experience in an operational healthcare setting and demonstrated leadership in primary health, correctional health, community health or a similarly complex environment.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, solve problems, make decisions and manage conflict.
