Clinical Nurse Educator – Perioperative

About the role

The Clinical Nurse Educator – Perioperative will support education for nursing staff across The Wesley Hospital and St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital in Brisbane. You will develop and deliver training to meet identified learning needs in the peri‑operative and procedural environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, plan and deliver clinical education programmes for peri‑operative nursing staff.
• Facilitate mandatory hospital training, including ALS and PALS courses.
• Collaborate with unit managers, the peri‑operative education team and the Metro Education Manager to align training with organisational objectives.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of education initiatives and adjust content as needed.

Required profile

• Recent nursing experience in Anaesthetics or Recovery.
• Level 2 Registered Nurse (Clinical Nurse) qualification.
• Post‑graduate qualification or working towards one.
• Strong ability to manage workloads, meet deadlines and work both autonomously and collaboratively.

Required skills

• Clinical education and teaching experience.
• Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
• Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
