Clinical Nurse Consultant - Diabetes

About the role

Metro South Health is recruiting a Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) for Diabetes within its Chronic Disease, Community and Oral Health Services. The role provides advanced clinical leadership, specialist consultancy and expert nursing care to improve diabetes management and support safe, high-quality, person-centred care for people living with diabetes and complex chronic conditions in their communities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist diabetes nursing expertise, advanced clinical assessment and consultancy to patients, carers and healthcare professionals.
• Lead clinical practice development by translating evidence into practice, contributing to clinical guidelines and protocols, and driving quality improvement and service redesign.
• Deliver patient and staff education, clinical supervision, mentoring and coaching to build workforce capability.

Required profile

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and a recognised tertiary nursing qualification.
• Relevant postgraduate qualifications or current enrolment in further study highly desirable.
• Credentialling as a diabetes educator or progress towards it highly desirable.
• Demonstrated clinical leadership, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
