Clinical Nurse Consultant - Diabetes & Endocrine

About the role

Logan Hospital at Meadowbrook is recruiting a Clinical Nurse Consultant for its Logan Endocrine and Diabetes Service (LEADS) in a temporary part-time role of 64 hours per fortnight for 9 months. The consultant provides specialist leadership, supports complex clinical decision-making and helps shape contemporary diabetes and endocrine nursing practice.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert clinical consultation and person-centred care for patients with diabetes and endocrine conditions
• Lead clinical practice, support complex clinical decisions and promote evidence-based care
• Mentor, coach and educate nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team
• Drive quality improvement, clinical innovation and implementation of best-practice guidelines
• Support research, service development and collaborative care across the patient journey

Required profile

• NMBA registration as a Registered Nurse and a tertiary nursing qualification
• Advanced clinical knowledge and experience in diabetes and endocrine nursing
• Credentialled Diabetes Educator status with the Australian Diabetes Educators Association (ADEA)
• A relevant postgraduate qualification or current enrolment in one is highly desirable

Required skills

• Knowledge of insulin pump therapy and continuous glucose monitoring (highly desirable)
• Strong clinical leadership, communication, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to evidence-based practice, patient and staff education and continuous quality improvement
