Clinical Midwife – Maternity Unit, Redcliffe Hospital

About the role

Queensland Health is recruiting a Clinical Midwife for the Maternity Unit at Redcliffe Hospital in Brisbane North. The midwife provides advanced clinical midwifery care to women, babies and families across a range of maternity settings, applying expert clinical knowledge and evidence-based practice to ensure safe, high-quality, woman and baby centred outcomes. The role works within a multidisciplinary maternity team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advanced clinical midwifery assessment, planning, coordination and delivery of women and baby centred care within the Maternity Unit.
• Respond to complex and changing clinical situations, giving expert support, direction and clinical leadership to nursing, midwifery and support staff.
• Educate and support women and their families, promoting informed decision-making, wellbeing and independence.
• Contribute to a positive learning culture through mentoring, education, professional development and evidence-based practice initiatives.
• Drive quality improvement activities that enhance safety and best practice outcomes.
