Clinical Coach - Maternity

About the role

St Vincent's Private Hospital Melbourne is looking for a part-time Clinical Coach - Maternity to join its maternity education team at the Fitzroy campus. The position is permanent part-time (0.4 FTE) and focuses on mentoring nurses and improving clinical practice across the maternity services.

Key responsibilities

• Support staff and diverse learners, from postgraduate students to enrolled and registered nurse graduates
• Cover all areas of maternity: Antenatal/CTG, Birth Suite, Post-natal unit and Special Care Nursery
• Deliver specialised clinical education that transforms practice
• Lead mandatory competency assessments and identify learning gaps, creating innovative solutions
• Design and facilitate targeted in-service education, including twilight seminars and short courses
• Champion professionalism and foster collaborative teamwork

Required profile

• SCN (32 weeks/CPAP competent) and birth suite support
• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• Proven experience supporting enrolled and registered nursing learners across maternity units
• Passion for education and mentoring, with an innovation mindset and collaborative spirit
• Desirable: post-graduate qualification in Maternity/Education or Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or actively pursuing)
