Clinical Category Manager - Procurement

About the role

As the Clinical Category Manager – Procurement you will lead the end‑to‑end sourcing of medical consumables and prostheses for Ramsay Health Care across Australia. You will develop smart category strategies, build strong supplier partnerships and ensure cost‑effective solutions while maintaining the highest quality and compliance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute category strategies for medical consumables and prostheses, aligning with business objectives.
• Manage the full sourcing cycle, including tenders, evaluations, negotiations and contract management.
• Conduct market analysis to identify trends, risks and opportunities, applying a Total Cost of Ownership mindset.
• Maintain and grow supplier relationships, implementing Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) initiatives for continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in health‑sector procurement, especially in medical consumables and prostheses.
• Strong analytical, commercial and business acumen with a results‑oriented mindset.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Resilient, adaptable and able to work under pressure while delivering cost‑saving outcomes.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of procurement principles, regulations and best practices.
• Advanced negotiation and contract management capabilities.
• Proficiency in data analysis to support decision‑making and identify savings.
• Expertise in Microsoft Office for reporting and analysis.
