Classroom Teacher - Term 1 2027

About the role

St Martin de Porres School, a Catholic primary school in Avondale Heights serving the community for over 60 years and governed by Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools Limited, is seeking a classroom teacher starting Term 1 2027. The school wants someone who can plan, work and learn in a team, is open to instructional coaching and reflective practice, and has excellent classroom management skills.

Key responsibilities

• Nurture each student's development and relationship with God, and model the Catholic faith
• Create communities of learning that engage students with a living, hopeful and meaningful Catholic faith in a diverse context
• Provide a safe environment supporting the school's zero-tolerance policy on abuse
• Build partnerships with parents and the wider community
• Use data to inform the learning and teaching cycle and differentiate the curriculum for all students
• Give continuous, accurate feedback to learners
• Reflect on practice with a coach, document and peer review personal goals
• Work collaboratively across the school and support its vision and mission
• Apply evidence-based learning approaches and the MACS 2030 Vision for Instruction and Engagement
• Follow the VIT Standards of Professional Practice, the Victorian Teaching Profession Code of Conduct and the AITSL Framework

Required profile

• Bachelor of Education
• Strong commitment to Catholic education
• VIT registration; accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school is preferred
• Valid visa and/or full Australian working rights
• Ability to work in a team, open to coaching and reflective practice
