Classroom Teacher – Secondary (Years 7‑12)

About the role

As a Classroom Teacher at Berry Street School’s Shepparton Campus you will create safe, inclusive and trauma‑informed learning experiences for students in Years 7‑12. You will support academic progress, wellbeing and readiness to learn while applying the Berry Street Education Model.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging, individualised learning programs aligned with the Victorian Curriculum and VCE/VCE‑VM.
• Develop, monitor and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Ready‑to‑Learn Plans in collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams.
• Use data‑driven assessment to inform planning, teaching and feedback.
• Apply trauma‑informed, strengths‑based approaches to promote student engagement, regulation and resilience.

Required profile

• Registered teacher with a commitment to child safety, equity and inclusion.
• Proven ability to build strong, respectful relationships with students.
• Calm, solutions‑focused demeanor in complex environments.
• Experience using data to guide instructional decisions.

• Trauma‑informed, strengths‑based teaching practices.
• Data‑informed planning, teaching and assessment.
