Classroom Teacher (F.T.E. 0.2)

About the role

A temporary part-time position as Classroom Teacher (F.T.E. 0.2) at St Michael's Catholic Parish Primary School in Mittagong, NSW. The role supports growth in faith and improvement in learning so that students may reach their full potential. It runs from 28 January 2027 to 26 January 2028.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain an orderly, safe and supportive learning environment based on the principles of PB4L.
• Plan and deliver effective teaching and learning across all Key Learning Areas.
• Apply knowledge of the diverse needs of students to support their full participation in learning.
• Implement effective teaching strategies in Literacy and Numeracy.
• Use a range of assessment strategies and analyse data to inform student learning.
• Engage professionally with colleagues, parents/carers and the wider school community.

Required profile

• Deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic school within the broader Catholic Church.
• Appropriate qualifications for teaching Primary K-6.
• Accredited Level D to teach Religious Education under the To Work, Teach and Lead policy, or a commitment to gain this accreditation within five years of employment with CEDoW.
• NESA accreditation to teach in NSW.
• Working With Children Check (WWCC) before employment, as the role is child-related.

Required skills

• Well-developed interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and strong organisational skills.
