About the role

Bailey Nelson is hiring Christmas Casual Optical Assistants for its Melbourne North stores during the peak holiday season. This temporary role involves delivering exceptional customer experiences and supporting eyecare needs in a fast‑paced retail environment.

Key responsibilities

• Guide customers through their eyecare journey, offering styling advice, frame recommendations and tailored vision solutions.
• Assist customers with optical requirements, ensuring each visit is warm and engaging.
• Maintain high energy and positivity to keep the store dynamic and meet operational standards.
• Collaborate with fellow assistants, store leaders and optometrists to ensure smooth peak trading.

Required profile

• Full availability from early November to end of January, including weekends and extra shifts.
• Previous customer‑service experience in retail, hospitality or a similar fast‑paced environment.
• Positive, enthusiastic attitude with a can‑do mindset.
• Strong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Excellent time‑management and reliability.
• Team player who builds strong rapport with colleagues and optometrists.
