About the role
The Children’s Contact Worker provides trauma‑capable, evidence‑based support to separated families in high‑conflict situations, facilitating supervised contact and changeovers on Fridays and Saturdays.
Key responsibilities
- Facilitate supervised visits and changeovers, prioritising child safety.
- Conduct ongoing risk assessments and develop safety plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including observational reports and compliance with court‑directed parenting orders.
- Collaborate with children, parents, courts and other stakeholders to ensure services meet legislative and organisational standards.
Required profile
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Family Therapy, Counselling or related Human Services discipline.
- Experience supporting separated families and managing high‑conflict dynamics.
- Strong knowledge of child development, trauma‑informed practice and family systems theory.
- Commitment to child safety, professional boundaries and high‑quality service delivery.
Required skills
- Assessment and report writing skills.
- Stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Proficiency with digital systems for documentation.
