Chief Operating Officer

About the role

A growing online thoroughbred auction platform, based in Sydney since 2014 and owned by Australians, is looking for a Chief Operating Officer in North Sydney. The role takes charge of the business day to day and scales it to its next level, with full operational authority while the Founder develops other areas. It reports directly to the Founder and CEO.

Key responsibilities

• Lift the performance of the existing team from day one
• Hire and lead the Sales Manager, Marketing Manager and Operations Manager, along with the wider team
• Launch new revenue streams, including advertising sales, a vendor rewards scheme and bonus schemes
• Put lasting team structure, KPIs and accountability in place
• Drive the next stage of growth across the business

Required profile

• History of personally building and running sales, marketing and operations teams; not suited to a learn-on-the-job hire
• Proven track record of launching new revenue lines with real numbers behind them
• Decisive, outcome-oriented and highly organised, with strong operator credentials
• Industry experience not required; a real estate background is well regarded

What we offer

• Base salary of $150,000 to $170,000 plus superannuation, commission and incentives
