Chief Operating Officer

About the role

A growing online thoroughbred auction platform, based in Sydney and founded in 2014, is looking for a Chief Operating Officer to run the business day to day and scale it to its next level. The role reports directly to the Founder and CEO, who focuses on developing other parts of the business. The position is based in North Sydney.

Key responsibilities

• Take the existing team and lift its performance from day one
• Hire and lead the Sales Manager, Marketing Manager and Operations Manager, along with the wider team
• Launch new revenue streams, including advertising sales, a vendor rewards scheme and bonus schemes
• Put lasting team structure, KPIs and accountability in place
• Drive the next stage of growth across the business

Required profile

• History of personally building and running sales, marketing and operations teams; not suited to a learn-on-the-job hire
• Proven track record of launching new revenue lines with real numbers behind them
• Decisive, outcome-oriented and highly organised, with strong operator credentials
• Industry experience not required; a real estate background is well regarded

What we offer

• Base salary of $150,000 to $170,000 plus superannuation and commission and incentives
• Full operational authority to run the business day to day
