Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

About the role

A premier, fast-scaling Managed Service Provider (MSP) based in Canberra, with 50+ professionals and an expanding footprint across Australian metro markets, is looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer. The CFO reports directly to the Managing Director and sits on the Executive Leadership Team, moving the finance function from operational management to a driver of commercial growth, profit optimisation and long-term value.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the Managing Director on long-term commercial strategy, multi-office expansion, M&A readiness and capital allocation
• Oversee budget forecasting, cash flow modelling, pricing models for recurring service contracts and vendor margin optimisation
• Lead and mentor an established finance team, covering management accounting, tax compliance and client billing
• Drive compliance, risk frameworks and reporting aligned with ACT and Federal Government procurement expectations
• Refine and scale internal financial systems (PSA/ERP tools) to match growth

Required profile

• CPA/CA qualification and a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• Proven experience leading finance in a mid-market technology, MSP, SaaS or professional services business ($10M-$25M turnover preferred)
• Strong expertise in recurring revenue models (ARR/MRR), contract margin analysis and client profitability
• Track record of building and developing finance teams, and familiarity with the ACT business and procurement ecosystem
