About the role

ESports Collective runs a free community chess session on Wednesdays from 3pm to 6pm at its Bairnsdale location. The Chess Club Host is a part-time role within the Supported Work Program, which offers real, paid jobs alongside the team rather than work experience placements. Wages are paid by the business, while support on shifts is funded through the participant's NDIS plan.

Key responsibilities

Welcome people as they arrive and keep the room running
Sell drinks and snacks when asked for
Help newcomers learn how the pieces move and pair people up to play
Set people up on PCs or consoles and take payment for them
Play occasionally when it makes sense
