Change Project Manager – Optimization

About the role

This position leads the implementation of operating model changes for a state government client, ensuring new ways of working are adopted, sustained, and integrated across business units. The role supports teams through practical application of structural, process, and role‑based changes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist advice and leadership on embedding initiatives to improve business outcomes.
• Plan and manage transition activities, including change readiness, capability uplift, and operational alignment.
• Coordinate embedding activities with design, change, and operational teams, tailoring solutions to local needs while keeping strategic alignment.
• Analyse effectiveness of embedding activities using data and feedback, adjusting approaches to maximise impact.
• Support leaders and teams in applying the new operating model, clarifying roles, processes, and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Develop and maintain documentation, tools, and resources to ensure consistency and reusability.
• Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, program teams, and delivery partners.
• Identify and mitigate risks, interdependencies, and change fatigue to sustain momentum.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in business, organisational development, project management or equivalent experience in large‑scale transformation.
• Proven experience embedding complex operating models or change initiatives in large, matrixed environments.
• Advanced stakeholder engagement, facilitation and communication abilities.
