Centre Manager - Campaspe Downs

About the role

Campaspe Downs, just over an hour from Melbourne and set in 160 acres of bushland in the Macedon Ranges, is an outdoor education centre run by The Great Aussie Bush Camp. As Centre Manager you will lead a team, shape experiences for visiting schools and keep the centre running safely and smoothly across accommodation, activities, hospitality and more. It is a hands-on, people-centred leadership role.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and support a team across activities, maintenance, kitchen and housekeeping
• Create a positive, collaborative workplace
• Oversee day-to-day running, ensuring safety, quality and smooth operations
• Act as key liaison for onsite teachers
• Ensure compliance, risk management and safety standards are met
• Manage rostering, performance and operational planning
• Support financial oversight including budgets, CAPEX projects and procurement
• Help the centre grow as part of the broader business strategy

Required profile

• Experienced leader or supervisor; outdoor education or camp setting is ideal but not essential
• Clear, confident communicator who builds trust and strong relationships
• Organised, calm under pressure and able to juggle multiple priorities
• Comfortable being present onsite during key delivery hours
• Problem solver with a can-do attitude, high integrity and a passion for supporting young people
