Category Manager - Home & Leisure

About the role

Amazon’s Retail team in Australia is seeking a Category Manager (Vendor Manager) for the Home & Leisure segment. You will help reshape the weekly shopping habits of Australians by championing the category and driving growth through strategic partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary customer and category advocate within Amazon.
• Negotiate pricing, promotions, and inventory terms with key vendors.
• Develop and execute category strategies, including product development and assortment planning.
• Lead cross‑functional projects, ensuring timely delivery and high‑quality outcomes.
• Analyse large data sets to create scenarios, drive performance, and inform decision‑making.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and senior leaders to align on goals and hold partners accountable.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in retail, operations, product or program management, or consulting with a focus on negotiations and results delivery.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to break down complex problems.
• Excellent project‑management and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Self‑starter with high flexibility, commitment, and the ability to work in a fast‑paced, ambiguous environment.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Financial analysis and P&L ownership experience.
• Experience handling large data sets to drive performance improvements.
