Casual VE Teacher - Cyber Security and Networking (ICT)

About the role

RMIT is recruiting a casual VE (Vocational Education) teacher for Cyber Security and Networking within ICT, based in Melbourne CBD but able to work or be based at other university campuses or online. The role suits professionals who want to teach and support students on a flexible basis.

Required profile

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110 or higher)
• Valid Victorian Employee Working with Children Check (appointment is subject to passing this check)
• Demonstrated experience in relevant industry and substantial discipline knowledge
• Ability to diagnose student learning problems and propose effective solutions
• Experience in competency-based assessment and in keeping vocational competence current
• Team player with strong communication, presentation and facilitation skills

Required skills

• Information Technology or Cyber Security (e.g. CCNA Network Security), Cloud Computing (e.g. AWS), Networking (Cisco CCNA), Database Management (e.g. MySQL or Oracle) or Programming (Java and Python)
• Use of relevant information and communication technologies
• Highly desirable: qualifications or experience in AI, including automation, generative AI or AI governance, and experience teaching AI-related subjects
