Casual Support Worker - Worrowing Heights

About the role

Wellways is offering a casual Support Worker position in Worrowing Heights, working on the front line of its Consumer Directed Services. The role suits someone who enjoys interacting with and supporting a participant in their daily activities, working closely with them so their individual needs are met. It is a variety of shift times.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personalised support to help participants live meaningful and fulfilling lives
• Deliver services covering activities of daily living, including companionship, meal preparation, domestic assistance and medication management
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of care provided to participants

Required profile

• Calm, collected and resilient, independent and proactive, able to follow manager directions and work in a tight-knit team
• Flexible availability highly desirable
• Current valid driver's licence and a registered, insured vehicle
• Police records check completed within the last 12 months
• Working with Children Check
• Right to work in Australia
• Willingness to use a personal smartphone
• NDIS Workers Screening Check and NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate (free online course)

Required skills

• Certificate III in Mental Health, Disability, Aged Care or Home and Community Care, or equivalent working or lived experience (desirable but not essential)
• Manual handling training is desirable, but training is provided if needed

What we offer

• Pay of $45.28-$81.50 per hour (with penalty rates) under SCHADS Schedule 2B, plus superannuation and salary packaging benefits
• Salary packaging up to $15,899 and meal and entertainment allowance up to $2,650 per year
