Casual Support Worker - Wagga Wagga

About the role

Wellways is offering exciting casual Support Worker opportunities in Wagga Wagga, NSW, with a variety of shift times including morning, daytime and evening. The role delivers a range of services to participants so they can live a fulfilling and meaningful life in the community. Regular travel to clients' homes, including out of town, is required, so a reliable personal vehicle and a valid driver's licence are needed.

Key responsibilities

• Provide assistance and support with daily life, including personal care and domestic activities
• Help with social and community participation and skill development activities
• Work with participants to support them in living independently in the community
• May be asked to support the NDIS program at the employer's request

Required profile

• Calm, collected and resilient, with empathy and a passion for making a positive difference
• Independent and proactive, able to follow managers' directions and work in a close-knit team
• Open availability is highly regarded but not essential
• Experience and knowledge of physical disabilities is an advantage

Required skills

• Current valid driver's licence and a registered, insured vehicle
• National Police Check completed within the last 12 months and a Working with Children Check
• NDIS Orientation Certificate (free online course)
• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Minimum Certificate III in Mental Health, Disability, Aged Care, Home and Community Care or a related field (desired but not essential)
• Manual handling training desired

What we offer

• Pay of $46.70 to $84.06 per hour (including penalty rates), plus superannuation and salary packaging
• Salary packaging up to $15,899, such as rent or mortgage repayments and car leasing
