Casual Shop Assistant (Bakery Café)

About the role

We are looking for a fast‑paced Casual Shop Assistant to join our family‑owned bakery café in Yeronga. The role is ideal for someone with barista experience who enjoys delivering excellent customer service in a busy retail environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with day‑to‑day bakery operations.
• Provide excellent customer service and take orders.
• Enter orders accurately using the POS system.
• Maintain high standards of bakery presentation and store cleanliness.
• Communicate respectfully with guests, supervisors and staff.
• Work closely with the store manager and support potential progression to assistant supervisor.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year hospitality or customer‑service experience (preferred).
• Barista experience is a strong advantage but not essential.
• Must reside in Brisbane, QLD.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Well presented with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Barista operation.
• POS (point‑of‑sale) system usage.

What we offer

• $36 – $42 per hour plus superannuation.
• Additional $6 per hour for weekend shifts (21 + years).
• Flexible 6–8 hour shifts, 20–38 hours per week, including weekends.
• On‑site parking and job stability.
