Casual Senior Research Assistant - IVCare Adaptive Platform Trial

About the role

The School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work at the University of Queensland's Herston campus is looking for a casual Senior Research Assistant for the IVCare adaptive platform trial. The position sits within the Infection Prevention and Vascular Access Group and contributes to clinical research focused on preventing and detecting infection. It is based at the Herston location.

The pay is an hourly rate of $56.47 to $62.77 plus 12% superannuation (HEW Level 5). As a casual employee, there is no commitment to ongoing work, and pre-employment checks may include verification of the right to work in Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement research projects and clinical trials, supporting delivery from project establishment through participant recruitment, data collection and progress reporting.
• Develop, coordinate and maintain regulatory submissions for multi-site clinical research projects in line with Good Clinical Practice, ethics regulations and research governance.
• Support project establishment and delivery by coordinating stakeholders, research meetings, participant recruitment, engagement activities, assessments and intervention episodes.
• Maintain clinical trial management systems, including database design and construction, data collection, cleaning and entry, and preparation of reports from data analysis.
• Monitor and report on research implementation, ethical considerations, data collection progress and compliance, and contribute to abstracts, posters, presentations and publications.

Required profile

• Degree-level qualification in Science, Nursing, Medicine or a related discipline; or a Diploma with relevant work experience and/or clinical research experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and education/training.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and independently on routine procedures.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Well-organised, methodical and self-motivated.
