Casual Security Officer - Launceston Magistrates Court

About the role

MSS Security, one of Australia's leading security companies, is looking for casual security officers to work at the Launceston Magistrates Court, a high-profile site central to the justice system. You will help keep the court safe for staff, visitors and the public.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a secure environment within the Magistrates Court.
• Screen people entering the court building and make sure security protocols are followed.
• Monitor and manage courtroom security during hearings.
• Respond quickly and appropriately to incidents involving disruptive or aggressive behaviour.
• Work with court staff and law enforcement to manage high-risk situations.

Required profile

• Previous experience in security or a related field.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to de-escalate tense situations.
• A professional attitude and a high standard of personal presentation.
• Readiness, confidence and assertiveness to handle challenging situations.
• Full Australian working rights.
• Valid Tasmanian Security Licence.
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates, or willingness to obtain them.
• Current Working with Vulnerable People registration, or willingness to obtain one.
