Casual Maintenance Road Worker

About the role

Indigenous Managed Services (IMS) is looking for casual maintenance road workers to support road maintenance teams across its Perth metropolitan depots in Hazelmere and Jandakot. The work involves essential road maintenance on busy road networks within a collaborative team. It is a long-term opportunity; only Australian citizens and permanent residents are considered, as Working Holiday Visa holders are not accepted.

Key responsibilities

• Perform minor road maintenance including pothole repairs, gully replacement, brush cutting, minor pruning and sign/guidepost replacement
• Assist with graffiti removal and general roadside maintenance
• Carry out concreting and pipe laying
• Operate plant and equipment safely and efficiently, such as excavators and bobcats

Required profile

• Australian citizenship or permanent residency
• WA driver's licence (medium-rigid or higher)
• Construction white card and Basic Worksite Traffic Management (BWTM)
• Current police clearance
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
• Physically fit for manual outdoor labour

Required skills

• Experience in high traffic-volume environments
• Competency operating mobile plant and equipment
• Understanding of safety systems, risk management and compliance

Roster and pay

• 80 ordinary hours per fortnight across 9 shifts (9 days x 9 hours, 1 day x 8 hours, 1 rostered day off)
• Shifts between 6:00am and 6:00pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch
• Overtime may apply for emergencies, with pre-approval required
• Pay of $48.00 per hour inclusive of 25% casual loading plus superannuation
