Casual Early Childhood Educator

About the role

Reddam Early Learning Schools, part of Inspired Education Group, is looking for a casual educator (2-5 days per week) for its centre near Bondi Junction. The centre offers a holistic early years program for children aged 1-5, with music, language, sport, drama and dance, and a child-led, inquiry-based curriculum. The educator supports children's emotional, social and cognitive development through play-based learning.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Room Leader in delivering an engaging, inquiry-based program inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach for children aged 1-5.
• Maintain ongoing documentation of each child's development, using reflection to inform planning and individualised support.
• Observe and assess children and plan for a small group, supporting their holistic development.
• Create stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environments.
• Build respectful partnerships with families, giving regular updates and involving them in their child's learning.
• Work with the team to promote an inclusive, supportive culture and contribute to team planning.
• Keep the environment safe and meet regulatory requirements and the school's high standards of care.

Required profile

• Experience in early childhood education and a passion for supporting young children's development.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to work with colleagues, children and families.
• Openness to continuous professional development and to team planning.
• Curious, reflective and empathetic, with patience for young children and their families.
• Sound understanding of, or willingness to engage with, the Reggio Emilia philosophy and child-led learning.
• Willingness to take part in school-wide initiatives.

Required skills

• Certificate III, Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education and Care, or actively working towards these.
• ACECQA-approved qualifications.
• Valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) or ability to obtain one.
