Casual Duty Manager - Hyde Perth

About the role

Hyde Perth, a new Hyde brand hotel opened in March 2026 in the heart of Western Australia, is looking for an experienced and passionate Casual Duty Manager. The role is a highly visible position representing hotel leadership in the absence of senior management, overseeing operations, supporting teams and resolving challenges while keeping guests safe and satisfied.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and support the Front Office team and manage guest arrivals and departures
• Respond to guest enquiries, feedback and complaints, and proactively share guest feedback to drive improvement
• Work with Food & Beverage, Housekeeping and other departments, and support hotel outlets
• Coordinate maintenance requests when dedicated staff are unavailable and maintain high standards of service, presentation and cleanliness, especially off-peak and after hours
• Act as Chief Warden and first responder during emergencies, provide first aid, and maintain a visible security presence with regular patrols and safety checks
• Document incidents and prepare detailed reports for management
• Represent the hotel in the absence of the Head of Department and General Manager, make operational decisions in line with policies and brand standards, and coach and mentor team members
• Undertake ad-hoc duties and special projects as required

Required profile

• Previous supervisory or management experience in Front Office or hotel operations
• Leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, with strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities
• Ability to stay calm and solutions-focused under pressure
• Knowledge of emergency procedures, acting as Chief Warden and First Aid Responder
• Flexible to work a rotating 24/7 roster, including nights, weekends and public holidays
• Professional presentation and grooming aligned with the Hyde brand
• A driver's licence is mandatory

Required skills

• Working knowledge of hotel systems, property management software and standard operating procedures
• Attention to detail and accurate reporting and documentation
