Casual Crèche Attendant

About the role

VenuesWest is looking for friendly, experienced childcare staff to join its Childcare Team at Arena Joondalup. The Crèche Attendant supervises, cares for and nurtures children in the crèche facilities, feeding, toileting them and running indoor and outdoor activities. The crèche serves children aged 8 weeks to 5 years, and there is also a school holiday child minding program for children aged 6 to 12 years. The position is casual, paid $36.21 per hour (Level 2 VWGA, including casual loading) plus superannuation.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise children inside the crèche and during outside activities, and plan and lead activities such as arts and crafts, outdoor play and games
• Meet children's needs including feeding, toileting, comforting, lifting and carrying
• Maintain the crèche admittance register and keep accurate records
• Keep facilities, toys and equipment clean and safe, and implement hygiene and safety practices as directed by the Crèche Supervisor
• Lead emergency evacuations when required
• Greet parents warmly, share information with them and direct difficult queries to the Crèche Supervisor

Required profile

• Experience working as a childcare attendant in a crèche or day-care facility
• First Aid in an Education and Care Setting (HLTAID012) and CPR (HLTAID009), or the capacity to complete them within one month of starting
• Western Australian Working with Children Check
• Flexible to work Monday to Friday, including Saturdays, and able to work extra hours for leave coverage
• Right to work in Australia and a National Police Clearance at the time of commencement (applicant bears the cost)
